The Memphis Group was a radical Postmodern design and architecture founded in early 1981 by designer Ettore Sottsass. It was characterised by bold, sometimes clashing colours, geometric shapes, and unconventional patterns. Along with other similar movements it eventually became synonymous with the 80s aesthetic, even apparently inspiring the MTV logo and idents.
This Memphis inspired piece is cut from three different colours of acrylic which are layered for a 3D effect. A brooch pin is attached to the back.
